Located in Vacaville, Peña Adobe Regional Park is a great place to go for a hike. Peña Adobe was originally an adobe house that belonged to Don Manuel Peña and his family. Adjacent to the park is the Peñas Point Trail, which leads visitors on an easy stroll through oak woodlands; Bear Valley Loop Trail, where hikers can explore more than 1 mile of lush chaparral and grassland habitat; and Marsh Creek Trail, which winds through riparian vegetation and seasonal wetlands. Peña Adobe Regional Park is also located near several other Vacaville attractions, such as Peña Adobe Community Center and Peñas Historical Museum.

Peña Adobe Regional Park: History and Nearby Attractions

Peña Adobe Regional Park is a wonderful place to visit. Peña Adobe Regional Park has been around for over 160 years and was once the home of one of California's first families. Peña Adobe Regional Park is very popular with hikers, bikers, equestrians, and even kayakers who use the park’s trails along Putah Creek. Peña Adobe Regional Park has over 40 miles of trails for you to take advantage of, and there are also several picnic areas where you can enjoy your lunch after a nice long hike. Peña Adobe Regional Park is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk.

Interstate-80 in Vacaville takes you through some of the most scenic areas on your journey, and this stop cannot be missed. With over 470 acres to enjoy at Pena Adobe & Lagoon Valley Park, there's plenty for everyone including stunning views from rolling hills as well as fishing opportunities with no motorboats allowed! Plus if I were you? You can find Instagram-worthy tree swings here too so make sure not to miss out by making a pit stop before continuing south towards Los Angeles or north into Oregon (where our state borders)!

Here you'll find a variety of things to do, from the historic Pena Adobe home and artifacts that date back into California's history as well as Lagoon Valley Lake with geese and non-motorized boating. There are also multiple trails for those who want an easy 2-mile loop or 1.5 miles up 620 foothills where great views can be seen on top! Additional amenities include barbecue areas, horseshoe pits (of course), bike trails - perfect if biking is your thing while disc golf courses attract even more players so everyone has fun trying out this exciting sport at different levels throughout year-round.

You can also enjoy Peña Adobe Regional Park for free, and parking is available onsite! There's a Visitor Center where you can stop in to learn more about the history and Peña Adobe & Lagoon Valley which includes access to their outdoor amphitheater as well. As far as restrooms? You'll find those throughout Peña Adobe too so no worries there either!

A short detour off Interstate 80, Lagoon Valley park offers up some absolutely magnificent views. The lagoon and the surrounding lush green hills made for gorgeous picturesque scenery that would be a photographer's dream daydream or picnic spot with loved ones! There is ample parking space available in addition to scenic walkways where visitors can enjoy being outdoors while also taking time out from driving their cars around all day long--a perfect destination just waiting on this unsuspecting road trip traveler's itinerary when they finally stop by at last after hours spent speeding through Wyoming back towards California without even noticing how close it was getting again until then.

This park has everything. You can enjoy trails and walk, the dog run is great for our furry friends (and seems like it would be pretty pet-friendly in general), there are hills to climb if you want them; plus all these tranquil spaces make for an excellent afternoon spent doing nothing but relaxing! I've met lots of friendly folks here who greet each other with waves as they pass by on their way through this lovely space between two trees.
