De Fremery Park is a hidden gem in the city of Oakland. It's a beautiful area for those who want to explore nature and wildlife without being far from civilization. It features an extensive trail system with 12 miles of hiking and biking paths that meander through oak woodlands, open grasslands, steep canyons, and breathtaking views of the Bay Area.

The park also has many picnic areas where visitors can enjoy lunch or just relax under the sun. When you visit De Fremery Park make sure to take your camera because there are plenty of opportunities for photography including scenic overlooks as well as seasonal wildflowers and migratory birds throughout springtime!

The large variety of scenery at DeFremery Park makes it one of the best places in Oakland for a nice hike or bike ride. DeFremery Park also has plenty of picnic areas, so be sure to bring your lunch!

It is a 9.5 acre park in West Oakland with facilities such as the recreation center, depression era pool and elementary school that offer many activities for people of all ages to use!

De Fremery Park opened in 1979, with a focus on more recreational activities. It has facilities for activities such as Girl Scouts, gardening class and arts & crafts classes. One of the main features is deFremery Skatepark which was made to be accessible by all sports enthusiasts from beginners to advanced riders and skateboarders alike!

The Black Panthers were a revolutionary party that sought to bring about change in the U.S., and de Fremery Park was an important part of their life work. De Fremery Park became more than just a place for rallies, fundraisers, or physical training; it also served as a distribution point for free groceries and health screenings like sickle-cell disease testing since Bobby Hutton's death. The park is now unofficially renamed Lil' Bobby Hutton Memorial Park commemorating his legacy with annual celebrations on April 22nd each year known as "Lil' Bobby Hutton Day."

James de Fremery, a San Francisco banker in the 1860s and successful businessman of his time, wanted to have an escape for himself and his family from gritty urban life. He built this giant Victorian mansion on Oakland's Oak Grove District (western oak groves) which would later become the center piece of West Oakland Park. A wide social history surrounding its building tells us that as we change our dynamics about what is around it; so too does society evolve with regards to how they use public spaces such as parks like these!

There is a long and rich history of people who have influenced the use of this space. From wealthy merchants to Black Panthers, they all had their own needs that were met by de Fremery Park. These external forces played an important role in shaping how West Oakland was used as well as what it looks like today.
